The Now I Can Children's Fund was established through the Burlington Community Foundation in 2007 by Nancy Barlett and Dan Wynnyk as a legacy to their son and brother Mark Wynnyk who died tragically in a motorcycle accident that same year. Reflecting on Mark's life, Nancy recognized that Mark was gifted and excelled at whatever he felt passionate about but struggled to find his place in the world.The fund was established in Mark's honor to benefit youth who are having difficulty fitting into the mainstream of life. The family wanted to do what they could to help disadvantaged and vulnerable children and youth develop a skill or area of interest and fully realize their potential.
